Want some tips and tricks for achieving fabulous wedding day hair? We asked Hollywood hairdresser Ken Paves for some insider advice on all things hair. All it takes is time, patience and these pointers for salon perfect hair on your wedding day.

Salon-Caliber Blowout

Prep: Mousses, gels and other styling products add volume and body to fine limp hair, and keep frizzies at bay with thick, wavy hair. If your styling product isn't a thermal protectant, spritz your hair with a heat protective spray just before blow drying.

Blot: "Wait until your hair is about 90 percent dry before you style it," suggests Paves. His advice: Blot wet hair, wrap it in an absorbent towel for a few minutes, then let it air dry till barely damp.

Section: Paves first lifts the hair up off the scalp with his fingers, directing heat at the underside of roots to create lift. Next, he divides the hair into several sections, twirling each into loose buns, secured with hair clips. "If you work on too large of a section at a time hair never gets or stays smooth or shiny," he explains.

Smooth: Using a medium barrel round brush, start near the roots. "Lift a small section of hair up off the scalp and pull it taut as you run the brush through it, following the brush closely with the blow dryer nozzle on high speed and high heat," says Paves. "Go over each section several times to smooth, then give hair a blast with the cool button to help hold the shape. Now you can style your hair into a chignon or pull it back into a ponytail, or just wear it loose. After styling, spritz with hairspray formulated to prevent frizz and add shine like Citre Shine Shine Mist, Anti-Frizz Spray Laminator

For Loose Looks

Prefer body and volume to a smooth style? After shampooing, don't brush hair. Scrunch a curl boosting styling product such as John Frieda Frizz-Ease Take Charge Curl Boosting Mousse through your hair, then gently arrange damp hair into curls or waves with your fingers and clip them in place. Use a diffuser to dry (some blow dryers come with these, or they're sold at beauty supply stores). Once hair cools, use your fingers - not a brush - to gently loosen the waves and follow with a spritz of anti-frizz hair spray.
